The introduction of liberty
WHY YOU DON'T WANT TO SHARE THE "PRETTY" QUOTES OF STATISTS,
Check out the two meme quotes by Trump and Obama. Do we REALLY wish to share the pretty lies of tyrants and war-mongers? Why not use the pretty words from Hitler and Stalin?
The question of using "pretty" quotes from statists has surfaced once again. History has shown us that many of the "best" quotes on liberty and peace have actually come from statists and aggressionists, Republican, Democrats, right-winger, left-winger, conservative, liberal, fascist, socialist, communist, etc. Is it ever a good idea to use them? The short answer is no.
The obvious goal here is that we do not want to help the enemies of liberty and peace. Naturally, someone who supports government and the "right" of aggression does not actually support liberty, even if they sincerely believe that they do. But the majority of the time, especially with politicians who seek positions of rule, "liberty" and "peace" are just buzz words to win elections with.
The primary reason NOT to share memes and quotes from statists, is an educational one. We are trying to help people learn about voluntaryism, non-aggression and liberty. The last thing we want to do is help people believe that "some politicians, statists and aggressionists believe in and want liberty, and thus worthy of our support." This only keeps people supporting the "same old, same old," and that doesn't help voluntaryism, non-aggression and liberty at all.
SOLUTION
Sure you can LIKE the words themselves, uttered by tyrants. Just don't use them for educational purposes without making it very clear that the individual saying those words does not support liberty and peace. If you just MUST use a statist's quote then write something at the top, clarifying for others, so they don't fall for the false idea that the party or doctrine that the statist follows is one other people should follow.
Often times what I do before posting something is to ask myself, "would a Republican, Democrats, right-winger, left-winger, conservative, liberal, fascist, socialist, communist, etc., agree with the post?" If the answer is "no," then I proceed with the post. If the answer is "yes," then I change the post, or don't post it.
